First Moments of Life

This is the little guy five-minutes after his entry into the world. Yes, his hands are raised in a gesture of victory. It was a long hard fight, but he and his mom made it through unscratched.

As for the baby, he's 7 lbs 3 oz and 19.5inches. He cleans up very well and has his mother's good looks.

As for his mom, it was a very long, anxious, exhausting and painful 40 hours in the hospital. The highlights: she went from 0% dilated to 100% ready-to-push within five hours, then she went onto push furiously for 90 minutes until the head, shoulders and body came through in one piece.

Congratulations one and all.

Who we are, What we're about.

This is not a typical view of Alison & Matthew.
We're hanging out of a window above 1st Ave. in Manhattan in early November 2005, awaiting the arrival of the lead runners of the NYC Marathon.

While we're definitionally New Yorkers, we live in Brooklyn and spend most Sunday mornings there... not in deepest UES.

What is not seen here is Al's tummy. At 8-months of pregnancy, she's got a pretty low center of gravity. :!)

Sonogram Artifacts

And so it begins.

Or actually, so it was 22 weeks after it actually began. These sonogram snap shots were taken on Aug 31, 2005 of a baby to be named at a future date. Not a bad minor league player. Looking forward to draft day.
